Pep Guardiola Praises Manchester City's Performance in Hard-Fought Win

Haaland Continues to Shine as City Closes In on Premier League Title

Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola hailed his team's performance after securing a crucial three points in their 2-0 win over Nottingham Forest. The victory moves City within one point of league leaders Arsenal, who have a game in hand.

Erling Haaland was once again the star of the show for City, scoring both goals in the second half. The Norwegian striker has now scored 27 goals in all competitions this season, including 21 in the Premier League.

Guardiola said after the game that it was a "hard test" for City, but he was pleased with the way his team responded.

"Nottingham Forest are a good team, and they made it difficult for us," Guardiola said. "But we showed our quality in the end, and we got the three points."

City took the lead in the 50th minute when Haaland slotted home a pass from Kevin De Bruyne. The Belgian midfielder was involved in the second goal as well, as he played a through ball to Haaland, who finished coolly past Forest goalkeeper Dean Henderson.

Forest had a few chances to get back into the game, but they were unable to find a way past City's defense. The loss leaves Forest in the relegation zone, but they still have a game in hand on some of the teams above them.

City will now turn their attention to their upcoming Champions League clash with Real Madrid. The first leg of the semi-final will be played at the Etihad Stadium on Tuesday, April 26.
