Brad Marchand Scores Twice as Bruins Tie Series with Maple Leafs

Marchand's Goals Help Bruins Avoid Elimination

Bruins Even Series at 2-2 with 4-2 Win

Brad Marchand scored twice, including the winner in the third period, and added an assist as the Boston Bruins beat the Toronto Maple Leafs 4-2 on Monday night to tie their first-round playoff series at 2-2.

Marchand scored his first goal of the game on a power play in the second period to give the Bruins a 1-0 lead. He added his second goal in the third period to make it 3-1, and then assisted on David Pastrnak's empty-net goal to seal the win.

Tuukka Rask made 25 saves for the Bruins, while Frederik Andersen made 30 saves for the Maple Leafs.

The series will now shift back to Toronto for Game 5 on Wednesday night.

Frustrations Boil Over for Bruins After Game 5 Loss

If you don't think that frustrations have started to boil over for the Boston Bruins after losing Games 4 and 5 at home to the Toronto Maple Leafs, you're mistaken.

Brad Marchand was particularly outspoken after the Game 5 loss, saying: "We're not playing our best hockey right now. We're not playing with the same intensity or passion that we had in the regular season. We need to find a way to get that back."

Toronto Maple Leafs head coach Sheldon Keefe did not hold back when asked about his team's response in Game 5:

"They were desperate," Keefe said. "They were playing like their season was on the line. We need to be prepared for that same kind of effort from them in Game 6."

The Bruins will need to find a way to regain their composure and start playing with more urgency if they want to avoid elimination in Game 6.

The series will now shift back to Toronto for Game 6 on Wednesday night.
